The senior leadership team has massive commitment and enthusiasm for making the school into a Peaceful School and to involving pupils in meaningful thinking and action around this. The pupils’ action plan for a peaceful school has been enacted. Children think of a peaceful act that deserves a reward every week.

Their Playground Pals scheme is very well worked out with a formal application process, training by staff and a job description! During playtimes, the school grounds get made into different zones led by older pupils who teach and supervise games and activities to younger children. There are chickens and rabbits in the central school courtyard for children to experience the cycle of life. Beautiful, peaceful mural paintings decorate the outside walls.

They have an annual citizenship week. Each year, pupils take part in ‘Woking People of Faith’ activities for the International Day of Peace including a competition for children to design peace posters. They have strong links with different faith groups in the community with visits to places of worship. Peace is taught in different parts of the curriculum, in RE PSHE, History.
