Beacon Peaceful Schools

What could be more important than working for peace in the world?! Schools can play a massive role in making the world a more peaceful place. Many schools are already doing a lot of work on peace - in different ways. Some are further down this path than others. A few are exceptional and they have become 'Beacon Peaceful Schools'. Schools get their Beacon Peaceful School Awards from the Peaceful Schools Awards Board, following receipt of a Submission Form (see link below). We need to know what your school is doing in these areas:

• How pupils are helped to develop their ability to connect to their inner peace.
• What is being done to enable the development of peaceful relationships in the school.
• The whole school ethos - is it peace promoting?
• How pupils are being equipped to be peacemakers within the school and in the wider world.
• Peace work beyond the school - in the local community and in other areas.

The assessment process is free. If you think your school, or a school you know, could be considered to be a Beacon Peaceful School i.e. a model for others to learn from, then please get in touch with Anna Lubelska, anna@peacefulschools.org.uk
