Woodheys Primary School in Sale, Cheshire - the first ever Beacon Peaceful School!

This is a peace-filled and peace-radiating, state primary school. The inspirational Head Teacher, Laura Daniels, was presented with the Beacon Peaceful School Award certificate at a schools conference in Gorton Abbey Conference Centre in Manchester on 30 June 2014. The presentations as made by Anna Lubelska, Director of Spiritual England and founder of the Peaceful Schools Movement and Lat Blaylock the Editor of R.E. Today.

The school has a range of peace programmes, peaceful spaces/places indoors and outdoors and peace activities. It has been accredited by the Peace Mala Initiative for the school's Peace Mala Interfaith programme. It has also got an International Schools Award for Celebration of Multi-Faith. There is a Positive Energy Labyrinth, a Tree of Peace, an Interfaith ceramic wall and much more. It's also a very environmentally-minded school and has won an international award for this too.
